This sculpture was inspired by the wild cypress trees of the Southwest that is my ‘soul home.’ As the sculpture evolved, it merged with the whimsy of the unforgettable masterpiece ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent VanGogh, which I have had the honor of standing in awe of at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on several occasions. (Each time it knocks my socks off!)
There is nothing more peaceful than ocean waves extending into the infinite horizon. Each year I am blessed to spend a glorious week with sand between my toes and saltwater suspending me in a blissful state of mindfulness. This sculpture honors how necessary the ocean—which covers 70% of the surface of our planet—is to our collective mind, body and spirit. You, no doubt, have your own special stretch of sand you are drawn to and restored by!
This sculpture can be hung from a tree branch, fence, garden gate, siding or indoors, if desired. It is perfectly sized for your secret garden entryway, porch or doorway.
My sculptures are designed to invite pause, year-round, in the garden and are durable enough to have permanent residence in an outdoor space. This sculpture was created by imprinting fossils, leaves, and other collected treasures of the natural world. It is solid-cast in stone and hand painted by me with a weather resistant oil paint. Since each piece is hand-painted, coloring may vary ever-so-slightly but will follow the same color design shown here.
Each sculpture has hardware securely attached to the back that can be easily attached to a siding hook.
